Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
The short version: nothing about you ever reaches us. Baro has no server and no account. Your migraine history lives only on your device, and only you can read it. This page exists so that claim is verifiable, not vibes.
Data we collect
None. Baro does not have a server, an analytics endpoint, a crash reporter, remote config, or any third-party SDK. We — the developer — never receive, store, or process your data. Our App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected on every row.
Where your data lives
Everything you log — attacks, pain levels, symptoms, medication, notes and any health or weather context — is stored locally on your iPhone (and, if you enable it in a future update, synced privately through your own iCloud account, end-to-end, still invisible to us).
Health data
If you grant permission, Baro reads the following from Apple Health, read-only, to look for patterns around your attacks:
- Sleep analysis
- Resting heart rate
- Menstrual flow (to identify a perimenstrual window)
- Step count
This data is used only on your device, is never used for marketing, and never leaves your phone. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app, and the app works without it.
Location & weather
If you grant permission, Baro uses your coarse (reduced-accuracy) location once per attack to fetch local barometric pressure from Apple Weather. Your location is never stored or transmitted to us — only the resulting pressure reading is kept, on your device.
The complete list of network traffic
| Traffic | Destination | Contains |
|---|---|---|
| Weather requests | Apple (WeatherKit) | Coarse location, API authentication |
| Purchases | Apple (App Store) | Standard App Store purchase flow |
| iCloud sync (optional, if enabled) | Your own iCloud | Your data, end-to-end within your account |
That is the entire table. There is no first-party server and no third party of any kind.
Purchases
Baro Pro is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We never see your payment details; Apple manages the transaction and tells the app only whether you have an active entitlement.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on our side. Within the app you can, at any time and for free, export your entire history as JSON or CSV, generate a PDF report, or erase everything with one tap.
Children
Baro is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If a future version ever introduces a new network destination, this page and the App Store privacy label will be updated in the same release, and the change announced to users first.
